I was wondering can i safely bring my computer to india?

my reason for asknig is i would like to visit as part of a round the world trip leaving the computer in delhi before touring rajestan for a month collecting it prior to departure from india and it could be useful to store photos easily connect to the internet and make notes. what i want to know is can i safely leave it in delhi while i travel round rajesthan. given that india can have scams and there are some dodgy people i have doubts about whether i should bring it with me or not.

also given the climate could iget away with wearing a kurta suit or would i cause offense
