I was wondering can you become an Insurance Agent in the state of Texas with a GED and no college degree?

  1. The Department of Insurance will be more concerned with your criminal background than they are with your educational prowess.

    Once you become an agent, you can take all of the industry related classes you need to succeed in the business!

  2. One option (speaking of State Farm only) is to get on with a State Farm Agent.  You will have to get licensed, you will be able to learn the business, and if you are good at selling insurance, you may be able to get your own agency one day.  There are a lot of openings in TX for SF Agents.

  3. Yes. You have to pass a state licensing exam.
