I like 2 of my middle school teachers.

One of them we joked around.

He had our class stand together to try to form Nitrogen, I think.

Well, someone infront of me had an H and I had an O.

He took pictures of me cuz he thought it was funny.

I was just really curious to know how many teachers like their students back.

I'm not saying that mine does, I'm just curious.

Anyone have stories they want to share?

That'd be really nice.

  1. There's nothing wrong with fostering a friendly relationship with a teacher!  (Although, if you want to talk about student-teacher dating... that's a sticky topic).

I had a teacher in 8th grade who taught science I was very fond of.  I had him again in 10th and 11th grade, and I was his intern in 12th--that's four years of being in his class!  He was fantastic and taught me so much.  Science was never a strong point for me, but he really brought the subject to life.

Now I am three years into college and we exchange email still.  He wants to set up a website to showcase his nature photography, and since I am a graphic design student learning web design I have been bouncing ideas off him since he told me about his idea.

A friendship between teacher and student can be a very rewarding one, not just for grades or letters of recommendations!  A teacher becomes a lifetime resource.

  2. Yeah, you should get away from that creep. It's pedophilia.

  3. As someone with more than 10 years of teaching experience, I have to say that I like most of the students I have had. I love taking funny pictures, getting to know them and interacting with them. It's hard not to build up a friendly relationship with someone you spend day after day with.

The relationship that builds up is similar in many respects to a parent-child relationship. I am sure you know that your parents like you. And that it's possible for your parents to like you.

I know you are asking about the different kind of "like", but I did want to describe a student-teacher relationship in a positive way before describing a negative one.. Just like it would be gross and inappropriate for a parent to have a "like" relationship with a child, it is as equally gross and yucky for a teacher to have that kind of "like" relationship.

About your teacher, I am 99% sure he likes you in the same way a parent likes his children.

  4. Its highly unlikely. Teachers study hard for at least 4 years to even become a teacher let alone years of experience afterwards to gain promotion step by step. Its good to have a friendly relationship with your teacher. I have left school and still contact 2 teachers of mine imparticular and even go out for drinks with them.

They know the downfalls if caught out. Its been known to happen, including in my secondary school with one teacher imparticular but he was clever and waited until after the students had finished school. If you are being taught by someone, whether your 16 and of a legal age or 18 (UK Ages) and a adult then its still illegal for a teacher to have an intimate relationship with his student regardless of them being an adult or not.

Always good to become friends with your teachers though and not just see them as a person who can be there to nag lol. They are a mind of information and this is extremely handy if you excel in their subject because you can keep going back to them for advice and help.

Hope this answers your question :)

  5. Do not engage in any type of activity with your teacher that does not pertain to school.

Although its not uncommon for people to be attracted to eachother it is illegal and would result in imprisonment for the teacher, suspension and a life time stigma as a child molster.

For the child it will result in embarassment and expulsion and even more.

I had a teacher who had an affair with everal girls at my school and the day he was caught he committed suicide at his home.

Do not engage in any sort of activity at all with your teacher.  Do not solicit or do anything that may encourage any sort of behavior.

Be responsible and focus on studying.

You will get caught and both of you will be punished, severely...

  6. I have had a lot of teachers with whom I had a great relationship.  Very friendly teachers that you never wanted to miss their class!  Friendly relationships are great to have with teachers because they foster the idea of a safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning.

Now, if you're talking about liking in the dating sense, that is a much more complicated subject.  That is not something that should be encouraged by any stretch of the imagination, especially with middle schoolers.  Don't be weirded out by him taking a picture of something fun that happened in class, lots of teachers do that.  They like having those memories.
