I am planning a trip shortly but I have no knowledge of swimming. Is Jetskiiing/tubing safe if I always wear a life jacket even if I dont know swimming ?

I saw the boating accident statistics. 13 % of people who drowned were wearing lifejackets ? How come ?

  1. Not a good idea to do anything around water if u can't swim.

  2. Anytime you're going into open water you should know how to swim. Remember, life jackets sometimes fail, then what are you going to do?

Also, keep in mind that when you rent a jet ski, they usually just let you go off on your own without supervision. If you fall off the jet ski while alone, who's going to save you? Are you going to float there alone until someone comes along?

It doesn't take long to learn the basics of swimming. I'd suggest a quick lesson or two and you should be fine.

  3. you will be fine... i did jetskiing last year... im still living

  4. if you are i say to wear a life vest and as long as you have that DON'T STRUGGLE

  5. with an  approved vest you should be ok. I wouldn't get crazy with the driving.  There are alot of PFD's out there that look really good for water sports, but they really don't keep you afloat. you have to help them make you float.
