I was wondering if I could still file for stimulus if I am on someone else's tax return?

I happend to let my sister file me under her but then the Gov. sent me a stimulus payment form. Also I am on full Disability and I am an adult

single.

  2. No, dependents aren't eligible.  The IRS sent out forms to everyone receiving ss who hadn't filed yet, that doesn't mean you are eligible.  As a dependent, you aren't.

    But you can just "let" your sister claim you as a dependent - either she meets the rules to claim you or she doesn't.  If she does, she doesn't NEED your permission - if she doesn't, you can't give her permission.

    If your gross income was under $3400 for 2007 (social security disability doesn't count towards that, but other disability payments would) and she provided over half of your total support for the year, she can legally claim you.  Otherwise, she claimed you illegally.

  3. Dependents are not eligible for the stimulus check.
