regarding the stimulus package (which is not a tax refund in any way) if you were eligible, you would have gotten a letter in the mail saying how much you were eligible for, and then some money would have been delivered to you in the same method you had your tax refund delivered

You may be speaking of the stimulus check.  It depended on your filing status, dependents claimed, income, etc.  Also the last of them (checks) went out last week.  You may try the irs website and it had a link "where's my stimulus check" that you could use.

You probably mean the REBATE not the REFUND.  Eligibility for the rebate depends on many factors and if you have not received it by now, you probably did not qualify.

While the rebate depends on your 2007 status and income, it is actually a rebate toward your 2008 taxes. According to the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, taxes would be cut in 2008 from 10 percent to zero percent on the first $6,000 dollars of taxable income for individual taxpayers.

So if you have taxable income in 2008, you will see a tax cut when you file in 2009 if you did not receive the rebate in 2008.

What tax refund in May?  If you are talking about the stimulus check, if you qualified based on this year's return you probably already have it.  If you did NOT qualify  this year for the maximum amount on your 2007 return filed this year and you qualify for more nexf year, you get the additional amount then.  But the qualifications next year don't have some of the "extras" in.
