I have never been there but wanted to know how much they charge for brakes to be done there?? looking for people who have been there before that can tell me if their service is any good? A lot of these places rip people off.

How are the services as far as tire rotation, tire changing and all of that??

I don't really know how to do a lot on my car since I am not a mechanic and all. Any input would greatly help.

  1. I think Midas specializes in Brakes and Mufflers.   I guess they are okay.  The Midas here where I am is always busy, so must be good.

For tire work though I go to Pep Boys.

  2. I went to Midas one time, and the price they quoted me was astronomical! I called my regular mechanic, and got a slightly lower quote - maybe $100 less. I went back to Midas, and told them forget it. I was just going to have my regular mechanic do the work for me. They were like, "Well, we already have the rotors off and everything, so let us just do it, and we'll charge you the same as your mechanic would." So they did... kept my business, and I didn't have to bring it to another place.

  3. h**l NO! dont take it to midas unless you have plenty of funds. bring it to me, ill do it for a lot less.

  4. Midas doesn't enforce standards in their shops very well, so it's all up to the boss there. They have extremely honest, competent shops and extremely bad ones.

  5. Please understand if your car needs brake rotors any of these chain brake shops install off-shore rotors and charge the ever loving c**p out of you. It's so bad you could buy top shelf rotors from autopartswarehouse.com and still have a lot of money left in your pocket. They also use metallic brake pads which chew-up rotors.

What ever you do specify ceramic brake pads and American or Canadian rotors. autopartswarehouse has EBC rotors which are made in Great Britain. They are very good also. Wagner and AC-Delco rotors are still US made. Off-shore parts are junk. They rust, warp and wear very quickly as the cast iron is extremely soft and coarse grained.
