  1. Sure, you talk to a local, independent agent.

    Now, residential cleanup - is that like housecleaning, or outside debris removal?  Completely different classes.  In any case, the local agent can ask all the questions, and get the exact coverage you need.


  2. Go to your garage and get the oldest phone book you have been saving.  (I hope.)

    Open the book to the INSURANCE section.  Look for the listing of CPCUs.  These are Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters.  They are incredibly knowledgeable.

    Look for an agent with the same last name as yours.  If none are there, take the next name in alphabetical order.  (This procedure keeps Adams from getting all the phone calls.)

    Since you are going to an old phone book, you already are getting an experienced person.  

    This technique should be considered when you need excellent business advice or other advice when you cannot afford a mistake.  (Such as for a swimming pool contractor...if the phone numbers are out of service, then how much is their guarantee worth?)
