I was wondering if anyone had an idea of what like a las vegas pit boss makes a year at a nice casino?

Im looking at getting into UNLVs Gaming Management program and was wondering what kind of pay and jobs could i ecpect to get upon completion? Im also looking into sports management, so same question there?

  1. $76K and up ... some places split tip to management so you can make even more that $80..K


  2. upward of $100,00+, but those aren't jobs you just walk into. it takes years of experience and there is very very little job security. the gaming industry has changed drastically over the

    years. the casino's are owned by corporations that could care less about you. especially in these rough economic times. casino's are cutting jobs, i just saw ( i live in lv ) a report on tv, gaming revenue is down 16% statewide and down 15% in lv. that may not seem like a lot, but that equates to millions of dollars and i means millions. the casino's are cutting payroll.  the pit boss or sports book management jobs

    are tough, even with a degree, they require experience. a pit boss or sports book manager have control /access/ influence

    over a lot of their money and they're not about to let someone they don't know really well have an opportunity to steal. and

    believe me, it happens. i'm not trying to discourage you but those jobs are not worth it, there's absolutely no security even if you get the job.
