I was wondering if anyone knew a way to make a ceiling to look the way it did in these two movies..

In Casper, Kat's room has this beautiful spiral design around the ceiling light and I wondered what you would have to do to do that.

And in Kazaam, Max's room has a neat galaxy/star looking ceiling and I wondered how to get it looking that realistic

Though it is time consuming, and your arm will hurt a bit, use a pencil and draw the design on the ceiling. Keep erasing and redrawing until you get it right. Then darken the lines a bit, and fill in with paint.

1. try using wallpaper

2. hire a guy  to paint it

3. try painting it yourself

*use crown molding to make the ceiling look higher than it really is!!
