You would first call the abuse hot-line # and make a report(which you can do anonymously, but can get in a lot of trouble for falsely accusing someone!). An investigator will go to the home to see if there is any abuse or neglect going on. If CPS finds wrongdoing the child would be put in a safe home either a stable family member, or a foster home. Then there would be a hearing within 72 hrs of the child's removal and it would be up to the judge if the child would return home or not. If it was not safe for the child to return home a case worker is assigned & a case plan. If the parents don't comply with the case plan then the judge will proceed to terminate parental rights so the child can have a permanent adoptive home. Hope this helps!

if you dont know where the person is at you will have to put ads in the local newspaper searching for the person and if they dont answer the ads you can have the parental rights terminated as a default judgement and then you can proceed with adoption.

The father of my youngest wanted his rights terminated, so I looked into it. No judge will terminate the rights of any parent unless it is for an adoption. They will terminate a fathers rights (without abuse or any extreme) only if the father agrees to sign off, and there is someone else there willing to step up, become the father, be put on the birth certificate and pay child support if the need arises. You can't just terminate rights for the heck of it, though.

the only person i know that had their parental rights taken away had CPS called on them... sometimes once is enough

Most courts wont terminate rights unless there is someone willing to adopt the child. I am in the process of adopting my (step)daughter. Its a long drawn out process. I would contact a lawyer in your state to find out what your options are. Most offer free consults. You can also check Legal Aid or the Bar Association in your state for low cost or even pro-bono lawyers.

you have to have good lawyer and then you have to have proof you need to talk with lawyer its not as easy as it sounds. it takes abit to do it but can be done. take care.

The mother of my nephew's child had his rights terminated.  He wasn't in court for it either.  You have to check the family law in your state.

yes the kid can get amansapated (probly havent spelled right)but only if thir 18 or older

Check the law books! CPS plays a big role in something like that if the parent is found doing something that is not in the best interest of the child.

Contact a lawyer.  States vary considerably and it depends on who and why the rights are being taken away.  In many cases, the best you can do is gain guardianship.

I don't know what state you are in but, in Texas you can pay a lawyer to file the papers and if the biological father is willing to sign them a judge will relinquish all rights to that child.  It cost approximately150.00.  I just did that.  I never received child support anyways so why deal with the worry of them trying to step back into the picture later in life.  Good luck

I hope you have good reason to do that. Because everyone has a right to be with their child unless they are hurting them in any way. and I have no clue!
