I know it's tough to find pizza in rome (NOT!!) this is a littlehole in the wall type place. It was around the streets Fontone and Nazionale.

It was a few blocks in near those two streets, which is also around so sort of military or national defense place. (there are always two army guys with big guns at the gate)

They cut the big oval pizzas with scissors and you play by weight. Near the one of the hotels rick steve's recommends.

Sound familiar to anyone?

  1. This is really too difficult to answer. There are so many pizza places like this in Rome. I understand perfectly the general area you are talking about, as I live in Rome, but it is a rather large area too. As it is a "whole-in-the-wall" sort of place, it definitely will not have a site on the net, so it is practically impossible to give you an exact address. These places usually don't even display a specific name on their signs, but just a generic "Pizza al taglio" or something, so it would be hard to find it even in the phone book.

  2. Maybe the streets are Via Nazionale and Via Quattro Fontane... and the military you have seen are those that stand in front of the Defense Ministry Building, along Via XX Settembre... or Ministero dell'Interno, along Via Depretis...

But I don't know where is this pizzeria... do you remember something else? The name of the streets, the colour of the walls... nothing else?
