I was wondering if i can have any cichlids if not only 1 in a 3 Gallon tank?

Ive got 3 Gal Tank (12.1L) with heater and obviously a filter. Sorry if ask anythin stupid im pretty new to this aquarium stuff.

All help would be appreciated thanks.

NO, tank is to small for any type of cichlid, stick with some small tropical fish

3 gallons is too small for any cichlid, even the "dwarf" ones need around 15 gallons minimum. in a 3 gallon you're limited to either a betta or a shrimp tank. not much else.

don't do it if you do decide to thoe, get a gold, blue, or bolivian ram but only one.  these beutiful cichlads get 3in. long and do best in a comunity aquarium with tetras. but you should try to stck with only tetras or guppies cause rams need a twenty gallon at a minimum.

No, they tend to get really big! I'd go with something way...way smaller.

Cichlids are alot of fun though! They are worth saving up for a bigger tank!

hint: check your local newspaper, thrifty nickels, and goodwills, you can find really good fish tanks for dirt cheap sometimes!

Yes.  You could put babies of any species in there for a while, but they grow pretty fast, so you'd need to continually cull them untill you don't have any.

Basically, no on adults.

Maybe one or a pair of dwarf cichlids. Make sure you perform weekly water changes to keep and feed appropriately. Dwarf cichlids include bolivian rams, german rams, etc. (others but don't know their names) - lots of varities in pet shops.

Instead of cichlids, maybe a betta, 2 or 3 livebeares like swordtails, guppies etc , shrimps (you could make a planted nano shrimp tank) - very impressive. Thjere are also a variety of shripms avialble like cherry shripms and Amano shrimps  are pretty as...
