The Pioneer Kuro Elite Pro-11550HD was declared the best looking plasma television by several magazines.  Runs about $4,500.

Killer black levels, handles pans over complex scenes that cheaper televisions "window blind" on. (You just have to see it side-by-side with another TV to see the differences.)

The second place in one magazine was the Panasonic TH-58PZ750U

For LCD technology

Sony KDL-40XBR4

The second place was Sharp LC-52D64U

depends what style you want, CRT, LCD, Plasma, projection...

Sony has been making amazing TVs for ages, but you pay for it

Samsung makes good LCDs and others, and are much less.

The very best are made by a company called "Proton"  the only detail I can give you is that I can't afford one.  You probably can't either.

Lower  from Germany  and B & O Denmark made top picture and colour  quality LCD TV ( there stop CRT model ) with also TOP price. Sharp and Sony  Hi-End model is Excellence  ( there Made own LCD Panel in Japan ,select grad 1 panel for their hi end model, ) Pioneer 50 inc Plasma can be one of the best  , ( if compare other best TV side by side with same movies , but for paper in specification ,pioneer loss out ) if you believe you eyes, consider it. If you are very rich ,go for Lower,B&O.( some country may not in stock ) Sony/Sharp  hi-end model is good buy.( Standard model just so,so , than better Sumseng /LG)
