Princeton Review? Kaplan? CollegeBoard? Barron's? I know one-on-one tutoring are way better than these books. But which one? Thank you very much.

  1. Actually, I'd have to say that the books are just as good, if not better, than one-on-one tutoring, but sometimes, it just depends on the person.

For the math, chemistry, and biology SAT Subject Tests, the Princeton Review is, in my opinion, the way to go.  I used outdated copies of the chemistry and math books (about ten years old), and I still got 800's on the respective tests.  I've never taken the biology test, but I have had friends who have used the Princeton Review book for that subject and liked it a lot.  English is kind of difficult to study for, but www.sparknotes.com and www.collegeboard.com are good places to start (follow links to test prep pages).

For the SAT Reasoning Test, again, the Princeton Review has a good book, and you definitely want to get the Official Guide to the SAT.  For the ACT, The Real ACT Guide is the one to get.

  2. I would definately recommend The Real ACT Prep Guide.

You can purchase it at Barnes and Nobles. It has real ACT tests inside, and it gives you the right answers and explains why. Its so helpful!

    Good luck!
