  1. Female tiels rarely learn to talk.  Males (at least in tiels) are more likely to learn to talk because in generally they have a wider vocal range.  Males are the one with various sets of whistles etc even in the wild because they use them to attract a mate.  Because of their naturally wider vocal range they are more likely to learn to talk or at least whistle various tunes

  2. The female birds very rarely talk, the male birds can be very chattie.

  3. ok cockatiels are parrots.

They can become quite good talkers, it depends on the individual bird. They generally can pick up a few words, whistle, and mimic noises about the house.

How much time are you spending with your bird? They will usually pick up words that they are hearing very regularly.

Females can talk just as well as males, but males are known to be the better talkers, and easier to train to talk.

  4. Well if you just keep, practising...

I used to have a female budgie, never talked. I tried.

Record yourself talking in a funny way to it, keep repeating yourself, when your out just tell it to play a million time, you get the idea.

  5. First off, cockatiels arent really known to talk.  Secondly, male birds usually talk more because in the wild they sing and make sounds to attract a mate (the female).

  6. If you care about them talking, a male is the only way to go.  It is a part of their courtship behaviour, with which they woo their females. Males can mimic sounds that they hear. Females just can't.  I have a male and a female, we got the female first and she is very hand tame, can't sing a tune though, the male, we got 1 year later, he can wolf whistle, and will sing quite a few little tunes, he really listens if we whistle and if we repeat it often enough, he picks it up quickly, the female, in the same cage, still doesn't make a noise though!

  7. Cockatiels are very hard to teach to talk and even if they do talk its only gonna be a word or 2.if you really wanted a talking bird buy a parrot. I think  focus your time in making a good relationship with your bird
