Question:

I was wondering why my groups were deleted without notice?

I had a personal group that I had deleted all content out of when I took it personal as I was the creator of it and no one was using it and it made a couple of people mad and then I had another group, which I had also created and owned and had the same people in yet they had shown they were not trustworthy so I removed their moderator priveledges. Now suddenly these two groups are gone. I had no notice of them being removed. The second group was down to four members, listed as an adult group, not in the directory and invite only. I have the vast majority of hte content from that group in my inbox but there was some personal stuff of mine archived there that is now lost to me. Why was this deleted and why can vindicative people be able ot get this accomplished without a word to me or any other owner? Can I get my groups back with all the content?

  1. we here can only speculate as to why it was deleted. Yahoo deletes groups due to complaints and complaints of TOS violations. Yahoo doesn't delete a group if they find no TOS violation.

some times, an angry member will plant something in the files, links or photo's and make a complaint. owners really have to keep up on these added items or limit members access to it.

Yahoo doesn't often give warning or reason when they delete a group, you can try this form and see if they will

    Yahoo TOS (terms of service)

    Yahoo groups guidlines

Peter V is incorrect. Age on profiles is a myth and is untrue. a Yahoo group will not be deleted due to ages not on profiles- profiles have nothing to do with any group- entering an adult group has to do with the Account and the DOB

  2. ya, they did that to me a while back... its because your members didn't have age posted in their profiles.

If you have an adult group, you MUST make sure all members have their ages (over 18 obviously) in their profiles or else if you post any pics, vids, even words, the group can get shut down for that reason.  Also, dunno what sort of adult group it was, but some ****** conservative might have ratted on you for content that they didnt approve of.  this mainly only happens to public adult groups... not invite only.

    Censorship sucks doesnt it?!
