I mean, honestly who cares if the hair is healthy.. if it looks like c**p then whats the point? Do you agree? Ive been washing my hair everyday and I dont seem to have any problems. I also blowdry and straighten it everyday as well. Where is the logic in not washing your hair?

  1. i'm sorry i don't completely understand your question. I wash my hair everyday, and it's healthy. Some people don't wash their hair everyday though because it may cause their hair to get too dry or frizzy. While others with normal to oily hair will wash their hair everyday.  I see no problem with washing your hair everyday, but it's up to you depending on your hair type.

  2. Maybe you yourself (not a professional hair stylist) can't notice damage. But the whole washing your hair every day is more about drying out your hair than anything. It's meant for people who have normal to dry hair. Washing every day can dry hair out...plus topping off with blow drying, curling, straigtening etc...it can lead to "fried" hair...split ends and also into a marked loss of hair.

If you don't suffer from this problem...bully for you. But since it's more a recommendation to the general public it's up to the individual user to determine whether washing every day is harmful to their particular type of hair.

Keep in mind that people with Oily hair SHOULD wash their hair every day in order to keep the oil build-up down.

And another recommendation is that you use a clarifying shampoo at least once a week (or once every 4 washes) in order to strip hair of product build-up.

And it isn't about NOT washing your hair. If you don't do it every day (even though you should BATHE everyday) you're supposed to wash every other day.

It's like any thing else that's meant as a recommendation....do it if it applies to you. Don't do it if you don't need to.

And good for you for having no damage. My hair breaks off so easily that I can literally pull out clumps sometimes...makes me want to shave it all and start over again!! LOL ..

  3. Not everyone's hair can stand up to daily shampooing.  That does not mean that it is not washed.  Typically people with dry hair do not shampoo hair everyday as that will dry it out, but they do condition the hair.  Other people, who have oily hair need to shampoo everyday.  Also, people who color their hair, particularly red, do not use shampoo on a regular basis because shampoo can really fade your color, but they still condition.  You just may have hair that can stand up to the elements.  And, hair is not what truly needs to be cleaned, it's the scalp that needs to be scrubbed, that's where all the oils come from that make the hair "dirty".

  4. i think its stupid. i wash my hair EVERY day. otherwise its oily. and i think thats kinda gross. i also straighten my hair every day. my hair is healthy and looks nice.

  5. some people's hair it doesn't really effect it too much ..if it starts getting oily by the end of the day which is why you need to wash it, then it's because you wash it too much and the natural oils start coming out to protect your hair ..but if you hair is normal then it's totally fine!! each for there own, right?? :)

  6. your gonna notice a difference with the straightening everyday.

washing it everyday isnt that big of a deal, if your hair gets greasier easier its the best idea.

but straightening for me lasts up to ..3days cause my hair doesnt get greasy that fast.

  7. you have to wash my hair  it cleans all the dirt  you can have in your hair but you shouldn't wash your hair everyday because  they say it can fallout and you'll be wasting shampoo because your hair wouldn't be carrying that much dirt.........................

  8. its not BAD, its just a lot BETTER if you don't wash it everyday.

i am currently in the last 2 months of hair school, this was one of the first things we learned.

your hair grows from oil glands in your scalp that control the growth & oil that come out of your glands, when you wash your hair everyday your striping your hair of these oils.

if you flat iron, blow dry, curl or colour your hair frequently i would reccomend trying to wash it as little as twice a week, otherwise you will soon begin to see breakage, split ends & dry looking hair.. you may not see the damage yet, but you will.

the oils that build up on your hair within 2 days are trying to protect your hair, like natures way of conditioning your hair.

  9. don't worry the damage will start showing up soon.

  10. It strips it of it's natural oils, which can dry it out, and in turn make it become oily more quickly.
