  1. They have some great products which make it easier and quicker

(for me at least) to straighten my hair. One which use is Toni and guy's straight and shine smoothing balm. I put it on my hair when it's wet to damp, then blow dry my hair, making sure  to blow down wards on the hair shaft, as this way it sets straight. Then I don't usually need to straighten, and if I do it's only a couple of swipes on my layers.

  2. you could wash it once a week.

that way you don't have to straighten everyday

it will make your hair a lot healthier too.

  3. get over it

  4. Blow dry your hair at night and straighten your hair in the morning it helps me.

  5. If you blow dry your hair before straightening it, try to shower earlier and let your hair air dry. For school, I used to wash it the night before, then straighten it in the morning. Since your hair is thick, make sure that it is completely dry when you straighten it because you can really damage it if your hair is even damp unless you invest in a high quality straightener like Sedu (#1) http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Ionic_Cera_d1... or CHI (#4) that has a plate 1.5 to 2 inches wide. This will no doubt cut down the time drastically. Also, use a leave-in product like BioSilk to help from drying it out so much. Also, try to straighten it every other day without washing in between to not dry your hair so much.

  6. i have waxy thick hair too, and i hate it.  I use garnier shine spray. i spray my hair after i wash it and i use a Genie hair straightener takes me 5 minutes to straighten my hair and you would never know my hair was so thick and coarse it totally changes the texture of my hair.  hope this helps.

  7. right after you wash it, run some leave-in conditioner or anti frizz serum (just a lil) and then blow dry it straight... use a good round blow drying brush and use one of those straightening tips on your blow dryer... they help a TON! then when your done, you can go back and just use a straightener if you missed any parts, but it should be good enough to just leave. This is what i do to mine, and it works great

  8. I don't know what you mean by 'waxy' hair but apart from that we have the same hair type.

It takes me probably 7 mins to straighten my hair every other day.

I straighten after washing (and I make sure I brush it before I do), then I comb it through whilst wet and let it dry naturally. If I blow dry my hair it takes twice as long to straighten as it puffs up like a poodle. I then separate my hair into top and bottom sections so I straighten the inner layer first and then the top layer as it takes twice as long without separating it out. I use heat protection spray  during straightening.

I use Ghd IV salon stylers which are over £100 (not sure in dollars) which are probably the best for thick hair. I chose them because they are the biggest you can get, and are for afro hair (although mine isn't afro just very thick).

  9. Okay there is a brand called: L.A. Hold

& they have a straitening liquid hairspray thing to use for straitening . Or just make sure to blow dry and straiten

  10. You could deep condition your hair them straighten you hair to how straight you want it.

  11. get loreal paris hot straight cream and rub alot on each strand before you straighten. also after you straighten comb your hair, it makes it straighter.
