By drunk, I mean DUI, which could mean drugs, too.

  1. strange isn't it. its because they are loose and in no condition to react.

  2. I always heard, 'God watches out for drunks and fools'.

Also there is the theory that it is because they don't tense their muscles as quickly or as hard as sober folk do when they get into an accident.  i'm not sure how that would help, but that's one theory.

  3. Limber and loose but the main question is why do they drink and drive in the first place.

Because when people drink too much they get stupid...and stupid people can't make healthy decisions...they'll wise up when they kill a family of 5.....and spend the rest of their lives rotting in prison.

  4. one of my teachers told me a story about him and his roomate being drunk in the car their other friend was driving and my teacher was in the backseat with his drunk friend and they were fighting over a taco and they flew out of the car. My teacher went running after his friend because he ate his taco and he pushed him down into an alley which was 40 ft high. He said that the doctor told him if his friend wasnt so drunk, he would have been dead. He did not break one single bone in his body because he was so relaxed and drunk

  5. because when you're drunk or on drugs your body is relaxed and loose. On the other hand the sober person is somewhat tense and especially during a crash their body tenses up, therfor causing more serious injuries than the drunk or high individual.

  6. Mind you I do not promote drunkeness, I'm rather a "Daughter Against Drunk Drivers, DADD."

Unfortunately, they survive because their bodies are so relaxed.

By the way for note sake, not all drunk drivers survive.  My mother who was drunk, & her car flipped from end to end & he neck snapped immediately & died instantly, upon the 1st flip: her car flipped 1-3 times & because she wasn't wearing a seat belt, she died.  Had she of been wearing a seat belt, the police, say that she would have survived it.  I do not believe that she knew what hit her.

I prayed that my mother wouldn't injure anyone else in the process of her drunkeness & my prayer was answered.  Praise God, no one else got hurt & 4 an answer to prayer!!

  7. The Lord protects fools and drunks.  (At least that is what I have always heard growing up in the South.)

  8. because their more limber and they don't stiffen up when they see an accident coming, that's the main reason they survive,if you stiffen up it creates more impact when you do hit, some DUI, drivers survive not all of them ,but like you said a lot of them do,good luck and have a good new years.
