Hi everyone, i am 23 yr old guy.

Joint an fitness centre exactly 2 months back. I am doing cardio and weight training every alternate days 5 or 6 days a week . I was on proper healthy diet (i got lot of help from sparkspeople website, i didnt went to any nutritionist , just searched a lot for information on net and it helped). I have 6 small meals throughout day , out of which 2 just consist salads with dips. Since my height is 5'9 , my target is around 65-70.I know this is not exactly an question, but just felt like sharing, and let me tell you , to see the weighting scale descending everytime i weight myself, feel great. excited about when i reach the kind of body i want .

My aim was to loose atleast 10 pounds every month, which i fullfilled it in this 2 months, do you think this is enough or should i try to burn more calories and my aim should be loose more than 10 pounds for this month ?

  1. going ok! Try to maintain it.

  2. Just keep on doing what you are doing.. don't try to rush it.. the eating pattern is perfect, and the weightloss is optimal..I am so happy for you.=)

Don't try to push yourself to do more.. you could turn something awesome into a really unhealthy obsession and ruin the great thing you have going on.. just breathe.. and enjoy the good choices you made and keep on like you are.

    Cheers...

  3. you are fine at what you are doing. eat good healthy food and keep working out. you will achieve your goal. GOOD FOR YOU..keep it up.

  4. Yes that is enough to lose in a month. Typically its believed that in order to have heathly manintainable weight loss you should aim at 1-2 lbs per week.  I have recently lost 30 lbs and I know how exciting it is!! Congratulations!  Something else that you want to keep in mind is that when your body compisition changes your body will require different types of excercise and food to burn the calories.  Also when you first start working out the weight will come off quicker.  I worked out and lost around 15 lbs my first 2 months then hit a plateau and it took me close to a month an a half to start losing any weight again.  It was very frustrating but I just kept changing my workouts to trick my body and finally...finally the pounds started to come off again.  I work out 6-7 days a week and I will now either completely switch my workouts about every 5-6 weeks or for a few weeks I will add alot of strenght training then go back to only high impact cardio for a few weeks.  This has seemed to help alot and caused me to lose 10 lbs in about 5 weeks

  5. yer baby

  6. Well done but don't let this become an obsession.

  7. You are certainly on the right track!! Good work. I am on a diet too, but it's much harder for me to lose weight, because I am older and I am a woman. But you are doing great. Don't try to lose faster, if you do, you will be burning muscle instead of fat, and then your metabolism will slow down and you will gain even more weight. I've been there.

  8. around 70kgs sounds fine, but it all depends on your natural build i think

    just dont become obsessed!!!

  9. sounds about right

  10. Congrats, I'm trying my hardest to loose some weight! Your my motivation!

  11. You're doing fine. 9lbs or 10lbs per month is good enough.

Continue to maintain a healthy body weight after losing weight. Repeated weight loss and followed by weight gain is called the “yo-yo” effect or also known as weight cycling. This is usually the result of quick-fix diets and weight-loss gimmicks.

The only way to maintain BMI in healthy range is the commitment in lifelong changes in eating and exercise habits.

  12. It is definitely your choice if you want to lose more weight then go for it, you have all my support, but if i have to answer 194 pounds is still not at a healthy weight so I would definitely agree for you to try to lose more weight , and on the other hand doing cardio and exercise will definitely tone up your body and makes you healthy inside and out, i really hope this helps you:D
