Question:

I weightlift and i run 2.5 miles everyday and im increasing?

i run before i weightlift to build stamina, if i am an efficient weightlifter and runner and i am building endurance, does this mean if someone punches me it will hurt less then someone who does neither? or do i have to work on something else?

  1. nope....

    learn defense...... head movement, footwork, glove placement,tuck chin in, roll with shots, don't close your eyes....etc. As soon as you can see shots coming and adjust on fly for impact.....they'll "hurt less"

    counters you don't see will always hurt, buzz,sting, daze you...etc.

  3. It depends, does the person who doesn't have the experience ever been punched before because it sounds like you haven't? The only real way to get good at taking punches is to simply take a punch

OK the best cross training u could do for boxing is spring intervals.  Increase your sprinting time and your recovery after sprinting.  Thats scientifically the best training u can do for boxing (as a form of running.)  Id do weighted ab exercises for abs, not hundreds of crunches.  Makes the muscle stronger and harder to penetrate, easy way 2 explain is; doing crunches over and over creates muscular endurance in the abs, u want muscular power!
