Question:

I went and took the Police Entrance exam but I failed?

They informed me that the grammar portion of the test was the one that killed me, I was closed I had to get a 56 and I got a 52. Can someone please advise me on what to do so I can do better next time? Yes English is not my first language please I need to pass next time.

  1. First of all, you were "close", NOT "closed".

    You need to immerse yourself in a lot of English and make a note of where you have a grammatical error, then make an effort to correct it.  Ask your associates to tell you any time you make a grammatical mistake. In time, you will have a better grasp of grammar and will pass the next time.


  2. Take an English (grammer) course.

  3. Reading english books may help you.

  4. Read as much as you can get your hands on to get more familiar with grammar and expand your vocabulary.  Books, magazines, and online articles will help.  Reading texts and emails will make it worse because people have horrible grammar in casual situations like that.  

    When I was in college I had this book, and it is a great reference.  It's cheap and could be very useful for you.
