  1. Bonsai trees need high humidity. In most cases you will need to take the dried up dead branches off of bonsai trees. You may need to put it out side if it is not out side already. I expect you will need to reshape your tree as new branches come along. If you have over watered your bonsai previously you need to check the tree for root rot. The roots will have to be trimmed. If you live in an area of extreme sun heat, depending on the breed of plant you may need to put your plant in the sun early morning and shade afternoon when the heat is extreme.

Deciduous trees lose there leaves/needles in fall, winter, and usually after an emergency transplant. But continue growing again in the spring.

  2. First off, a juniper is an outdoor plant. It cannot survive indoors for any period of time.

To give it a fighting chance, get it into a bright, but protected area outside. Like under a tall leafy tree, so it can get lots of sun, but not direct sun. Keep it out of the wind, and water it as the soil begins to dry out. No fertilizers for a stressed plant either.

If there is any life left in it, you'll see new buds begin to form on the branches in a week or two. If all goes well, keep it in this location for a few weeks as the new needles will sunburn easily. After that, slowly acclimate it back to full sun, watering only when the soil dries.

The problem with junipers is that they do not begin to show signs of stress until well after the damage has been done. With some luck, you're plant may recover, but it's impossible to be certain.
