Does this sound like a load of c**p to you. It was well you don't have a motorcycle license, we don't have insurance on these, we don't allow test drives. Am I missing something?

  1. No, you have to have a motorcycle license to drive a scooter.

Would a car lot let you test drive a car without a driver's license?  No.

  2. Get a license. It is illegal to ride without a license!

It makes perfect sense to me.

DO you think a car dealer would let you test drive a car without seeing your license first!

  3. People come and they do not know how to ride one and wreck it before they get off the lot, they steal them, and in my state it is against the law to have them prepped and gassed up on the show room floor. There is a good reason for not letting some one ride your product. Just read some of these questions in here and would  you let these  people ride what you had for sale.

  4. it's alot easier to damage a motorcycle, mainly by dropping it, then it is a car..

it might help if ou had walked in with a vheicle of equal value to offer as 'insurance'

  5. dealers don't offer test rides because a total doofus before you took one for a test ride and wrecked it

and most dealers are very small business men on a limited budget that can't afford the necessary insurance to cover customers that test ride

  6. That's how it is.  The same holds true for many motorcycle dealerships too... even if you have a motorcycle license.

Try writing some of the manufacturers and ask for names of dealerships that do allow test drives and/or have scooter rider education courses.

  7. Thats typical. Most motorcycle dealers will not allow a person to drive before they buy. This forces most people to buy what looks good or has the best specifications, reviews, etc. Most people buy a bike based on looks with no idea what it is like to ride.

  8. would you get to test drive a car without a license?

"we dont have insurance on these" seems like c**p, but it could be true and its just a S****y dealership.

"we don't allow test rides" is a legit reason... lots of places dont...

  9. No, you aren't missing anything.  Go to a car dealer with no drivers license and see how many you get to test drive.  It's theirs until you buy it.
