  1. just what u called it a biscuit with sugar

  2. They are called Chinese Donuts.  I found a recipe for you.

    Serves/Makes:   8

    Ingredients:

    1 can refrigerated biscuits

    1/3 cup sugar

    oil to deep fry in

    Directions:

Use either a deep fryer, or a large deep skillet. Be sure to add enough of oil to line the bottom of the pan a couple of inches deep.

Heat oil to 350 degrees. Remove biscuits from can and fry a few at a time in the fryer. When browned on one side, turn over. When golden brown on both sides remove from oil, and drain on paper towels. Pour sugar into a small container, and once the donuts have cooled slightly toss the donut into the sugar, and coat on both sides. Be sure to fry only a couple at a time.

  3. IT'S CALLED A CHINESE DOUGHNUT.......GODD AREN'T THEY...??

  4. I just call them a sugar bun/roll.  Not sure the official name, but I like them!

  5. I go to ne here and it was made from a egg roll pastry fried and the they coat it with a sugar syrup to make it sticky, some of the units will have a steamed one in the hot table were they use a steamed bun dough steam them and then sprinkle sugar on them and glaze them in the oven, I have been to ones in Kitchener, Brantford, Cambridge and Barrie.

Oh and I am a former chef ( Iworked in 2 Asian countrys) and live in here Toronto and have had them in many Chinese bakerys here.

  6. We've always called them a Chinese donut simply because that's the label they put above the dish.

In Hawaii there is a similar donut that is Portuguese and is called Malasadas ... it is similar in texture (light dough, deep fried to a golden, crispy outside, light and fluffy inside) and then rolled in sugar - or a cinnamon sugar mix).  Leonard's Malasadas is THE BEST in Hawaii.

In Okinawa there is a similar donut called andagi (awn-dah-GEE - hard g, not soft like a j) - it's a heavier dough and not rolled in sugar after frying.

The Creole version is the beignet (bin-YAY) - very similar, light, deep fried, sprinkled with powdered sugar or iced or even rolled in sugar or a cinnamon sugar mix if you like.

    Blessings

  7. if it was crescent-shaped, crunchy, and you got a piece of paper stuck in your teeth when you ate it then it might have been a Chinese Fortune Cookie.

  8. There just called chinese donuts
