Also what would bring about this type of recomendation? The reason i ask is i can't afford to have it done right now. Is this something I should save for, or is this something I can fix in my swing?

  1. .Clubfitting ensures that your the sole of your irons are flat on the turf when you address the ball. This allows consistent contact eliminates toe or h**l digging into the ground. Upright means that your a tall player and standard clubs are to flat for you they will adjust it to your body and set up. Flat clubs are usually for shorter player but not always because your setup may dictate more than just your height. In conclusion get setup

with a pro make sure that your addressing the ball right and noticing great results with your recommend clubs specifications.

  2. It won't if you are a leaner.........

  3. I have become a big fan of Ping golf for the very reasoning behind your question.  They have a great system where you can find out your dot color and then just buy those clubs from that point on.  You can actually do a self diagnosis by checking out their site (listed in the sources).  Typically a more upright bend is for a taller golfer (blue, green dot and on up from there.  This would be a good way to save money on your next set as well.  Just by a blue dot in pings (1 degree upright).  I highly recommend the Ping Eye 2's because its possible to find them dirt cheap and they still out perform the latest brands and models.  The upright or flat bend can affect the flight (Fade or Draw) of your ball so it is an important detail to get right.

  4. In general a  club which is too flat will hit the ground with the toe. This generally causes push or slice since the face will open and is already aiming right (for right-handed players). This is usually determined by having you hit a hard plastic plate with impact tape on it. Are you constantly hitting the ground with the toe?? I had a pro once tell me to get my clubs 2 degrees upright. All I did instead was to move back from the ball very slightly. Before spending the money go to the range & see if a difference in your set-up and alignment helps!
