I bought a laptop, and I used it for 7 days and I realized it wasnt for me, and I wanted to exchange it for somthing else.

The guy told me I had 14 days to return it if I didnt like it, so I go in there today, and I got b*tched out by the manager, and she told me i couldnt return my lap top. and if i wanted to get a differant one I would have to pay 15% restock fee.

What can I do? I feel like I got screwed over, is there a differant number I can call to report this crappy manager? She was really unprofessional, and she was a huge B*TCH.

  1. There is a restocking fee on some items, and a laptop is easily one of them. They have to repackage it so they can sell it as "new."

Still, my parents bought the extended service plan on a computer, and had to use it when it crashed arbitrarily, and they charged them $25 anyway. So, they didn't keep their word on the plan. Oh, and they said that they were being belligerent about it, just for saying one word in contest.

  2. i'd probably talk to either one of the other managers, or talk to the store supervisor.

  3. Concerning returns, you have to go off of what the back of the receipt says rather than rely on what you have been told.

As for the manager who was out of line, maybe it would be best for you to start from the top and call their 1-800 customer service number and tell them about your experience.

  4. READ THE RETURN POLICY AND GUARANTEES THAT ARE ON THE SALES RECIEPT FROM THE PURCHASE.MOST MAJOR ELECTRONIC STORES WILL CHARGE A 15% RE-STOCKING CHARGE ON RETURNS ONLY NOT EXCHANGES. I WOULD CONTACT CORPORATE AND REPORT HER WITHOUT HESITATION.EXPLAIN YOUR SITUATION AND WHAT HAPPENED.SAY YOU WANT TO FILE A COMPLAINT ABOUT HER.TELL THEM THAT YOU DO BUISNESS WITH THEM REGULARLY BUT NOW YOU ARE THINKING OF GOING TO THE OTHER GUY FOR ALL YOUR COMPUTER NEEDS.THEY DO NOT WANT TO LOOSE YOUR BUISNESS ESPECIALLY WITH THE WAY THE ECONOMY IS RIGHT NOW AND ALL.THEY SHOULD ACCEPT YOUR EXCHANGE CHEERFULLY.ASK THEM TO REFER YOU TO ANOTHER ONE OF THIER OTHER STORES IF THEY ARE A CHAIN.JUST ONE THING THOUGH,MAKE SHURE THAT THE 14 DAY RETURN THING IS IN WRITING ON YOUR RECIEPT AND NOT JUST FROM THE SALESMAN WHO MIGHT HAVE THROWN YOU A PITCH TO GET A SALE.GOOD LUCK...

  5. the manager is wrong. I'm looking at my best buy receipt and it says that you can return or exchange a laptop within 14 days and a 15%  restocking fee will be charged.

You should go return it at another best buy store and instead of talking to the manager, just talk to an associate. You can also contact Best buy's toll free number 1-888-bestbuy

  6. I suggest calling 1-888-BESTBUY. The automated system should get you to where you can talk to a person. Of course, you're going to know the store's location as well as the name of the manager you dealt.
