I try to avoid typical touristic places....but it was my girlfriends birthday and she really wanted......

It was beautyfull.....the christ is 30m high and the platform on top of the mountain is relatively small so you have to watch straight up and the christ is giant......

if you go up with a cab make sure you ask for the price before getting on it.....

Don't miss the Corcovado(christ)....view is ecellent....good to understand where you are......

Sure did.It's not only what you can see up there, but what you can see FROM up there. The Maracana stadium, Ipanema beach, the hypodrome, the Sugar Loaf, Guanabara bay, Tijuca forest... The most beautiful city in the world!! You sure missed something amazing!

I was also short of cash when I was in Rio so I walked up that hill right to the top, great view and fantastic to see the statue right up close and all for free....Hey we all stuff up from time to time....I was in Rome staying at the youth hostel low on cash , so I didn't go and see the Sistine Chapel ...I havn't stopped kicking myself...
