  1. I know how you feel..someone stole my debit card information and charged $250 worth of yahoo phone services.  My bank told me that they couldn't do anything about a pending debit transaction and that I had to call the company.  It was a pain and I had a huge check coming out and it was going to bounce all the way to China.  Finally got a hold of yahoo and they put it all back immediately.  Your bank shouldn't be holding the money for 3 to 5 days.  It doesn't/shouldn't take that long as it only took a day after the charges came out of my checking account for the money to be replaced.

  2. Unfortunately it takes time for money to leave one account and go into another, its not instant. If your struggling for money, most banks will give you a temporary overdraft they will simply take any money you spend from the money that is credited into the account in 5 days. But then again you can't be desperate for money to live on for a few days if your buying clothes!! a few days wont kill you without money unless  your gonna be starving!

  3. Mistakes do happen and this is a lesson in why you should always always check before entering your PIN or signing. Still, they have issued you with a refund but in the meantime, if this takes you into overdraft and incurs any bank charges you should insist that these are paid by the retailer.

  4. You would need to put your complaint in writing to both Bank and Company who took the monies along with receipts etc - I understand your point. If I were you I would get the letter done now whilst you are pissed off - get this sorted! How hard is it to take the correct amount of money? Bet if you paid £3.48 they have been all over you?

  5. Get over it...it was an honest mistake. It isn't their fault if you bank doesn't put it back right away...it is your bank doing that because they don't have to...when I've had money put back on my debit card it goes back immediately.

  6. Mistakes happen and can take time to correct, so just give them a chance to fix it like they said.  If you're very desperate for money, just explain to a friend or relative what happened and ask to borrow a little while the bank corrects the problem, and then once they do, you can pay them back.

  7. sometimes you just gotta wait it out.....oh and make sure you watch those cashiers.....and ALWAYS check your receipts!
