I was 3cm dilated on Thursday. Is that possible to get another one and lose it that quickly?

  1. Sometimes it comes out in pieces, you probably just didn't lose the whole thing the first time.

  2. Chances are you just didn't lose all of it when you thought you did.  Many times it can take a week or two even to lose all of your mucus.  It took me a little over two weeks to lose all of mine (lots of panty liners:)  You rarely lose the whole thing at once.  But good news, your obviously getting close to the day.  Good luck and God Bless!

  3. Well I hear that the mucous plug regenerates itself....but I am not sure.

  4. No you only have one.  You can lose it all at once or a little at at time over a few days. If you indeed lost ALL of your mucous plug then it sounds like a "bloody show" Which is a mucous discharge stained pink/brownish with even blood sometimes. This happens as your cervix is effacing or dilating and it means delivery is on it's way!!!! Start watching for contractions. Based on averages you will start having contractions within 24-48 hours or sooner! Best wishes!!! :)

  5. It doesn't re-generate...sometimes it doesn't all come out at once...so it comes out in chunks.

  6. Yes it is!  LOL!  I lost mine at 31 weeks.  Now I'm 38 weeks.  For the first couple of weeks after I lost it, it came back a couple of times.  Now it's to the point where it's at least once a day.  As long as there's no blood, you should be ok.
