I went to the ocean for the first time last week, after 2 days I got canker sores and swollen gums. Any clues

I went to the ocean for the first time last week, after 2 days I developed what I think are canker sores on my lips (5 on top and 2 on bottom) I have swollen gums on top and bottom and it feels like I burnt the roof of my mouth. Anyone have any ideas on what it is and/or how long it will last?
