Take it both sophomore and junior year. sophomore yr is just practice, and junior year if you do well you can get merit scholarships.

Eh, it doesn't matter. Unless you're aiming to be in the 99% then wait until junior year. I percentile improved by 20%, but it's still not good enough. Good practice if you want to waste three hours of your precious life...

I made a foolish mistake myself of not taking it during my sophomore year. I realize now that if its free, serves as an excellent source of preparation for the SAT, why not?. So, yes, go for it, because it will really get you ready. You will see your score only rising as you take it in sophomore and then junior year. Good Luck!

Unless you are going for a particular scholarship or an appointment to a military academy, you can wait.

Take it both sophomore and junior year. This way you will be able to get a better grade in the PSAT that  you take in junior year since you will have better practice.

I suggest that you take it both sophomore and junior year. In your sophomore year, taking the PSAT's will not count against you. It will show you what level you're on and may give you a direction to study for the SAT's. Then, if you do study, you can take the PSAT's in junior year, and if you do well, you'll qualify for as a merit scholar, but I'm not too sure what that is. So, in my opinion, take it now, and then junior year again.

i took it sophomore year so i would know what to expect when it actually matters, in junior year. it wouldn't kill you to take it.
