I will be booking my cruise tomorrow with Cruiseonly.com. What are some things I should take in accunt when doing this. Also, we will be getting an interior and when i have done my research on the internet, I notice that some ships offer you to upgrade your room. When would be the time to request the upgrade. We will going April 26, 2009 on the Mariner of the Sea through Royal Carribian

  1. Royal Caribbean rarely does complimentary upgrades anymore unless you book into a "guarantee" catagory (which means you pay a lower price and the cruise line picks your room for you).

They only OFFER upgrades to the Diamond Members of their loyalty club, the "Crown & Anchor Society".

At any rate, what they actually mean when they say "upgrade" is moving to a higher deck, still in the exact type of room...you will never get a free upgrade from an inside to an oceanview.

That will be a great cruise though!  The Mariner is a really cool ship.

  2. If you aren't rushing to upgrade, then don't. My family gets the balcony rooms and then once we are about to board the ship, my dad goes to this upgrade desk and asks if there are any better rooms available. If there are, you can upgrade to them for a much better price.

  3. omg i have so been on tat cruise! b sure to tell them if u want early seating (6:00) or late (8:00) or else they will decide when booking. also if u want to sit alone or with a group at dinner. i went on tha cruise like 3 weeks ago and LOVED it!!!

  4. I recommend that ou get competitive prices from other sites, as well as the RC site.  You might save some $.  Room upgrades are done at the last minute.  Don't count on it.  If you can afford a room with a window do so by all means.  It will be much more pleasant.
