  1. Unless you want to race, this bike should be fine for normal off road stuff.

With bikes you get what you pay for, and I can tell you that this one will be heavy, which again, shouldn't be a problem unless you want to race.

I don't think you'll have any problems with the bike if you just want to mess around on it. I do suggest buying it from a bike shop (not online or walmart) to ensure that it is assembled properly. A bike that is poorly assembled, no matter how good the components are, will suck.

  2. The Response is a good bike for on the road or offroad on smoother trails but is definitely NOT for jumps and drops... you'll tear the bike apart.

The Response Sport will be much better in handling rougher terrain but will still not handle any kind of drops over 6" or any kind of jumps for very long.

For a bike that'll handle what you want plus give you room to improve, you'll need to bump up to the Response Comp at the very least.

  3. Good for you!!! I got mine yesterday, the disc brakes are good, and for what you are using it for, its perfect anyway!!!
