Since you've been on eight cruises, you probably already know about this site, but if not, check out CruiseCritic.com.  Click on "Boards", then "Ports of Call", then your ports.  

Youlve probably been to Coz, - my favorite thing to do is get a cab to Chankanaab Park, although some day I want to drive further south and around to the east side beaches.

Costa Maya, of course, was destroyed by the hurricane last year, but is recovering.  The pier is expected to be finished later this year.  They have totally re-done Majahual.  Whether it's an "improvement" or not, only you can decide.  There are lots of pictures at CC.

You also probably already know that the prices of cruises don't vary that much from different sources.  VacationsToGo.com gives an easy to compare prices and the usual travel sites have good deals - Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, Kayak, TravelZoo.
