I have a heart to help persons who are ignorant of certain issues about life and those who are desolate but I want to be able to also feed my family.

  1. Social workers get paid jack. Find a lucrative position and spend your free time volunteering for interests you support.

  2. You don't indicate what your current career is and how much you are making.

In general a BSW makes 20-40K and MSW makes 40-60K

5 years out BSW's makes 30-50K and MSW makes 50-80K

A degree in social work in general pays better than any other comparable degree at that level (e.g. an MSW pays better than an MA in psych).

    DA

  3. I am in the post of changing jobs, and im off to do social work, the money's there in some cases if you have the correct training....\Good luck

  4. It's a hard career..overload with cases and not paid highly.  In order to get the best jobs you need a MSW.
