Here's the honest to God truth. Kids are mean. Sometimes they don't even have reasons to pick on others. If you do get picked on, you need to stick up for yourself. Don't let them see that you are afraid of them. If they do make fun of you, ignore it. Don't stoop to their level and try to make fun of them also. Be the bigger person and walk away.

Also, don't go into junior high school scared, because not necessarily will you get picked on.

I really had a fine time in junior high school. Didn't really get made fun of, had plenty of friends, and enjoyed the whole school experience thoroughly. You'll see all sorts of "mean" people on TV school shows. That's not how it is. Just be you and you'll find out where you fit in. Good luck!!!

Why would they make fun of you? Everybody is pretty nervous but JR high is a piece of cake aside from the drama. Try to stay as far away from it as possible!!!

They will not make fun of you as long as you don't brag, talk trash, or be too weak. Just be who you are and be friendly. They're junior high kids, what can they really do to you? Seriously, i think you might have an overload of tube time.

Kids are mean...I'm sure that everyone gets made fun of at one point or another.  The only thing that you can do is find a group of friends who like you for who you are.  Then you have to learn to NOT listen to others that may make fun of you.  Just remember that most people make fun of others to make themselves feel better (because they have issues)!  Have fun and stick with your friends!  You will have a great time in Jr. High!

I was so so so nervous to start junior high. It is scary at first, but you make so much friends. I thought I wouldn't make friends on my first day, but now I am one of the most popularist girls in school!!!

Everyone in high school or junior high has been made fun of at least once.  It sucks, but it's inevitable.  Usually it's to make the person doing it seem superior, because deep down they are insecure and need to make themselves appear this way in front of others.  I would either not let them see that it has any affect on you at all (look down on them, make them look stupid for being immature) or be bold and give them back a taste of their own medicine (but be careful, you could start a war).

Everybody gets made fun of in Middle School at one point or another. The key is to make people believe that it doesn't bother you. The only reason kids make fun of others is that they're lacking something (manners, self-esteem, etc.) --- So, it hurts to be made fun of, but you can pity them instead of being mad and just let them get their laughs and move on. Once they see they're not aggravating you, they'll stop.
