I am getting married next year, but i would like to plan ahead and figure out how much this is gonna cost. I will be going all over the country. I will be going probably close to the end of May 2009. I would start up north, go to milan, florance, venice, rome, naples, capri, sardegnia, and end up in my home of siciy. I would stay about 2 days or so in each city, and spend one week in sicily. I have family there, but i will not be staying with them. Also cost of renting a car and all that stuff! Any help would be appreciated!

  1. check with your airline for the car rental, or try on ryanair.com, good rental prices (hertz, avis, etc are high) also ask your insurance to give you an international insurance and goo to aaa to get international driverlicense. Italy drives on the same side like USA (not lke UK). Hotel most of them have a/c now, must ask for it when you check in or book. best wesern or acore.com ibis.com or holiday in are god hotels here, but you find also the family run which is very caratteristich and nice.

food is mid priced, the usa exchange is not the best right now, but choose to eat at a trattoria and check that the place is full of people because it1s a signa that its good food and good price, if rest is empty go somewhere else. also the rest, have menu and prices outside, medium p/person is 10 euros p/lunch/meal, pizza is about 5-7 euros, then you also have mcdonalds if you want, but the local food is worth trying.  Good luck

  2. It could turn into an expensive trip because of the Euro/Dollar exchange but you can save money here and there sleeping in family owned apartments and hotels and trying to save on your meals (a good panino will fill you up for a lunch).

Also, check every city touristic pass! You will save money in trasportation and museums tickets.

    Enjoy your trip!

  3. cheap and romantic apartment in the wonderful countryside near Florence:

The place is very convenient to visit the whole Tuscany (Florence, Siena, Pisa, S. Gimignano, Volterra at 30 minutes-1hour driving max).

In addition, the landscape is really a dream: hills, vineyards, olive grooves..... you can walk at sunset... fantastic!
