I will be in AU on a work holiday visa. Should I bring some nicer clothes for office temp work?

Can temps wear jeans or do I need to dress nicer for offices. Also, I will be applying for "real jobs" while there. If I have an interview, will it be totally unprofessional if I show up in nice work clothes instead of a suit?

  1. dude just dont wear one of them cork hats there like the colour orange they dont look good on anyone.

  2. If you are from the US and on a 462 Working Holiday visa (for tertiary educated young people), you can work for up to 6 months in any type of job. From the UK, Canada and some other countries, the 417 visa also allows 6 month's employment anywhere.

In most offices, a nice skirt or pants and blouse is completely acceptable for both the interview and for everyday work. You would only need a suit in perhaps a high-powered law firm or something like that. Some offices will allow jeans, but for interviews, you shouldn't wear something that casual.

Enjoy your visit to our beautiful country - I'm sure you'll love it.

  3. When applying for Jobs it pays to dress professionally.

Some Jobs you can wear what ever you like others have a business dress code  Basically it all depends on whom you are working for, so pack a few work clothes & lots of casual stuff :)

  4. When you only have a work holiday visa you can't apply for "real jobs" anyway. You only can do jobs such as fruit picking or a waitress job. You only can work up to 3 months for 1 boss then you must change jobs. Don't expect to earn lots of money with a working holiday visa.

Jeans and t-shirt will do for these sorts of jobs, believe me.
