I am not familiar with Ireland at all. I know of some touristy places I want to see, but I am not sure how far apart everything is. Starting in Dublin, can I see most of Northern Ireland in one weekend? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

  1. Well lucky for you having the Month to see Ireland.  If your going to start in Dublin I'd recommend staying there for a while & seeing all the sites there first before moving up towards the North.  In Dublin there are lot's of lovely places to see.  take a walk through the city center, have a look at the historical GPO, where the rising took place in 1916, you can

still see the bullet holes to this day.  Also ramble up to St Stephan's Green, it's a lovely park, now when you get there there will be horse & carriages outside, take one up to Guinness's Brewery, in James street, (all these place are not far at all!) and make sure you get your free pint f Guinness when your there!  Also there's a lovely bar up at the top of the building & you can see all round Dublin!  Take a trip up to the Phonex Park.. (not far from James Street) and visit Aurther Guinness's house!  It's really beautiful. (also free), there are many lovely places to see in the Phonix Park, it's one of the biggest parks in Europe!  There's also a tour bus that goes all around Dublin showing you all the sites, and there's also a Viking boat, it's a big boat with wheels thats goes all over Dublin then it goes into the Canal, it's a nice trip to take.. In the evening time I'd recommend going to Temple bar, It's in Dublin city & a lot of tourists go there, there's clubs, irish bars, resturants, etc...there's always something going on there, you should have a good bit of crack..When you do go up to the North try make a few stop offs along the way!  There's beautiful beaches up there like Bettystown, skerrys, etc.. & you can either drive (the m50 is the best for getting around!) Or if your not driving take the train, it's just as good, only I would recommend that you buy a weeks ticket or a month for bus & rail...  I suppose the best thing I can do to help you would be to include a few links!

Ps: Try make sure you get to see Powerscourt Gardens (waterfall) & Wexford!  I hope you have a great time & having a month you should well get to see all these places!  Best wishes! :-)

  2. Dublin.......!......

    Go to Temple Bar!!!

Its the most expensive place in Dublin, but if you go during the week, there is often "offers" on drink...

(also, a little trick we do is to slip a small bottle of vodka in my bag so i dont have to buy so much in there lol)

    Id recommend.....

Dorans (GREAT live music and food)

Try Barcode (thursdays are cheapest btw!).....i go there all the time and im 18 (its kind of young place, youd love it i reckon!)

    21's

    Reds

    The Viperoom

    Whelans

Theres alway great music in Tripod....it a lovely place too

If you want a really "irish" pub....try Johnnie Fox's pub, in Glencullen on top of the Dublin mountains.....out if the way, but it is the highest pub in Ireland lol

    Bars aside,

    You can visit Dublin Castle

the Dublin Spire is on O'Connells Street (extremely overated but very tall lol)

Depending what youre into, theres lot of museums and art galleries such as the National Gallery and the Irish Museum Of Modern Art.

there are some great bus tours..."the viking tour" and the "ghost bus tour" at night

    Phoenix Park (with the zoo!)

Grafton Street/Henry Street (for shopping!) - theres a cool vegetarian cafe called "Nude" near there too lol

If you want to go to a shopping centre, go to "Dundrum Town Centre.

Also, taxis are very costly here....if you can, get the Nightlink (bus) which operates in Dublin in the early hours!!

If you really want to experience "old", traditional ireland,The west is the place to go!...County Clare (QUITE near to Galway.....ish!)

i have family who live in a town there called Ballyvaughan....and its absolutely beautiful

There, you can stay in a thatched cottage and visit the little pubs and restaraunts by the sea - theres often live music.

Theres also lots of cool scenic things there too.

The burren (take a look at the Dolmens, theyre incredible!), the Ailwee caves, The cliffs of Moher.

Theres also a "birds of Prey" sanctuary near the Burren - worth a visit.

In Lisdoonvarna i think, theres a nice aquarium and if you want to do some shopping you can go to Ennis.

The people are SO friendly there and so proud of the County- the accents are crazy too lol.

In comparison to most places in Ireland, its a lot cheaper there

Its really hot here at the moment...but dont take it for granted....it could rain!

Dont forget warm clothes...but hopefully it'll stay sunny!

    Have a great holiday!!!!
