  1. If you're taking a train in stop by a local hotel and ask for a map or guide book.  (Don't be obvious if you don't stay there.)  I stayed at the Best Western right next to the train station; the little pocket guidebook they gave me had three walking tours in it.  I would have gotten all of them done if it hadn't rained.  They were really nice and I feel like I hit most of the sites.

  2. 1. Jet de'Eau - The fountain at the late.

Visit from the opposite end in front of Noga Hilton and enter the quai inside the lake (small entry fee). One of the best views of the Lake Geneva and the fountain. Locals come in great numbers on a sunny sunday to sunbathe and just chill out.

    2. Jardin Anglais (English Garden) - with flower clock. from the quai, come down to quai du Mont Blanc to this place. Have a coffee by the lakeside.

    3. From the garden go to Rue du Rhone for shopping experience. Most shops will be closed on Sunday though. Nearby is an old Reformist church, very beautiful.

    4. From there, go to Parc des Bastions. You will find people playing huge size chess on the entry gate facing the town hall.

All of these places are 2-5 minutes walking distance from each other.

Later in the evening one can go to the casino Monte Carlo or one of the numerous restaurants having excellent meal options.
