  1. Reihn Ruhr valley (Cologne, Aachen, Dusseldorf, Munster) Mosel Valley (Trier, Koblenz)

    North see

    Hamburg

    Erfurt

    Berlin

    Dresden

    Munich

    Nurnberg

    Heidelberg

  2. If you're in the south.

Go to Munich, see the Glockenspiel on the hour and go to the Hofbrauhaus.

Go to Heidelberg and see the castle and boat/cruise across the Neckar and Rhein.

  3. Take the Rhine River cruise, Heidleberg, Colonge, Munich and the Black Forest. Leave your private jet parked, You'll not have to use it. Rail travel to these places is faster and lots better. Trust me, I spent 9.5 years in Germany when I was with the US Army.

  4. You should go to Munich visit the Englisher Garten on a summer afternoon, the beer kellers at night and see the clock in Marienplatz. Whilst in Munich you should vist the lakes to the South, good for sailing in the summer and the surrounding mountains for walking. There are also some fine Bavarian Palaces to visit. As it is the Summer you will not find good skiing. You should go to Dresden and see the renovation work being carried of the buildings destroyed in the war. You should go to Berlin, the capital see the remains of the Wall dividing East and West Berlin, the Brandenburg Gate, the gardens, the nightlife and still see the differences between East and West. You should go to Koln ( cologne ) see the cathedral, markets and take a trip down the Rhine. You could go all the way down to Strasbourg on the border between Germany and France and visit the famous Black Forest so you see some of the beautiful countryside. Hope this helps. Can I come too. If you like football then the World-cup is also on in Germany this Summer.

  5. I tell you this, don#t go to cologne. Buy yourself a picture of the cathedral and look at it for twenty minutes, because otherwise, the city is dog ugly. It was bombed out and built up cheap. The locals seem to love the place, but don#t ask me why. For tourists, it's a no-go, in my opinion.

  6. Go to Berlin, Munich or Cologne Dome. If you want to experience night life - Hamburg Ripperbahn. Dresden is also a nice place.

  7. In Germany, the five must-sees for me are:

    1) Berlin - the entire German capitol is wonderful.

    2) Neuschwanstein Castle - this is the castle that Sleeping Beauty's castle is based off of. One of King Ludwig's castles. It's gorgeous.

    3) Munich - this city has a lot of great sites to offer and offer's some great options for shopping.

    4) The Black Forest - is well-known around the world for its cuckoo clocks and Black Forest Cake. Mmmm.

    5) Cologne - has one of the most magnificent cathedral's known as the Dom, as well as a great shopping area.

  8. I'll be in Dresden on June 20-22.
