  1. There's a great pier at Dun Laoghaire, super for Sunday morning hangover walk-offs. Highly recommended.

  2. I live in Ireland. If there is only one thing that I can say, its go to Dundrum Town Centre (and for anyone Irish NO i am NOT a D4!!!) Don't be under illusions about friendly little leprachauns that lots of foreigners consider to be Irish people! Times have changed, although in general the Irish are a free, friendly (ish) people. If you go to out at night (as with any built up areas nowadays) be with someone at all times. Above all, have a great time!!! :-D x*x Slán anois, le grá, Capaz de todo x*x

  3. dun laoghaire is a suburb of dublin city approx 10 miles from the city center.  It is a port town but the area itself is quiet enough.  The Dublin Area Rapid Transit (DART) rail system runs every 15 minutes or so from Dun Laoghaire to the city, numerous city buses also travel into town but depending on traffic they may not be as good an option.

Dublin city itself has an excellent nightlife and a multitude of shopping destinations, its a very cosmopolitan and busy city  The city itself is quite expensive to live in, accommodation is more expensive in Dublin than anywhere else in Ireland, ditto alcohol.

If you are coming from a large city then the transition to living in Dublin should be easy, however if you are coming from a smaller town or rural area then rush-hour Dublin may seen a bit overwhelming at first but you should get used to it.
