  1. Secure a copy of your birth certificate since the original might be verified and the duplicate will be part of the marriage license and certificate file.


  2. No, it wont be kept although they may copy the information for their records.

    They just want proof that you can legally marry.

    Your age and what s*x you are, in some countries you can have same s*x marriages in others you cant.

    They also want to know your not related to the groom.

  3. No they should not keep it. But to be sure always have a couple of extra copies and get them signed as true copies by a Justice of the peace. See if they will acept a signed copy first before you offer them the original.

  4. They'll probably just copy it.

    But for $20 or less you can get another certified copy (keep your original at home to assure its protection).
