  1. We brought a disposable litter pan when we had to do that...worked great in the hotel.

Just get her a nice big carrier that she can move around in, put a blanket or towel in it, and you're good to go. Let her get used to the carrier well before the trip. Avoid taking her out in the car...loose cats in cars are very dangerous! Bring her regular food along and her regular food and water bowls so when she gets to the hotel she feels more comfy.

She'll probably sleep most of the way in the carrier, and then bounce around the motel room all night. She'll be just fine.

  2. Don't worry about the cat. Animals are meant to be wild. Make sure you take him out to pee and p**p. Bring some milk and it will be fine. Promise. :)

  3. a cat carrier with a litter box, water, and food in it. Line it with a towel so he can lay down. He will likely howl and cry the whole time..they hate the car.

  4. Well a pet carrier is nice, but prepare for the constant "meowing"....to make it "nicer"...get a big pet carrier....(not gigantic)...and place a bed in there.....some ppl like to let them jump around the car....good idea if you know that your cat won't jump out at first chance...or you forget that they are out and open the door.  Just take a cat carrier and put some toys in there for the trip.....either way...cats hate car rides so you are going to "hear" about it.

  5. go to your vet and get some sedatives for the kitty.  They use it for pets that travel to help them calm down

  6. OMG he might be too old for milk, but whatever

  7. Your cat will maybe meow for a while but then will settle down and sleep. Make sure you have food water and a litter box in the car. A place for the cat to sleep. Mine like the floor best.

Be CAREFUL not to let the cat out when stopping for gas or breaks. I've known a few people over the years who have lost animals this way.

I drove from Arizona to Florida with three cats and did fine.

Don't tranquilize it unless absolutely necessary.

  8. Food

    Water

    Attention mostly

Let your cat stretch in the car when you have stopped

  9. give it a little area to run around in the car haha. not in the trunk though...

  10. my cat hates the car ride and i'm doing the same thing in a month.  put her in a kennel and she'll like that best.  she'll be and feel safer that way.  when u get to where u r going make sure she has a quiet out of the way placee to hide.  line it w/ ur t-shirt or something that smells like u.  if u get her use to traveling, she'll do much better w/ it when she's older.  i would ask a vet 1st for a cat so young, but i give my cat a small dose of dramamine (sea sickness pills) it seems to calm her down so she doesn't cry so much.  also a vet might have a shot to let her sleep through the whole thing.  just try not to scare or spook her.  small movements, soothing vocie, talk to her.

my mom found something a petsmart to plug into the car that is suppose to calm a cat.  hope something works

  11. Get a harness and start getting your kitten used to it. If you need to stop you may want to take kitty for a walk.

I used to put a small litter pan on the floor in the back seat JUST IN CASE -- it was never used, but I didn't want p**p in my car. Once I traveled with the cat in the carrier the whole way and she pooped in the carrier -- it was an awful smell, she had it on her and I had to clean it out at a rest stop which is hard to do.

It's probably illegal, but I used to let my can sit across my lap while I was driving. She felt better and so did I, but just test it first -- you don't want a cat to try to hide by your feet; that would be terribly dangerous. And you don't want the cat to head toward an open window (toll booths). You may want to put the harness on and tie your cat to the back seat with a leash for the whole trip.

You'll want food available. Water is hard because it spills, but you might be able to figure that one out.

    Good luck!

  12. the kitten will not be use to the motion of the car, check with your vet, there may be a motion sickness pill for it,also i would not feed it for about 4 hours before you go.also i would make sure the kitten is "played out and tired" right before you go. catnip  seems to make them tired after the buzz too

  13. all you need is his favorite toys and blanket. Try to give him lots of attention! I have done that before- works well!

    + please awenser my question!

  14. just comfort it as much as you can during the drive cats tend to become uneasy in cars so you should probably get a little pet carrier to keep it in and as often as you can show it attention it should be fine

  15. Bring lots of water- if you don't want it spilling try a water bottle (the kind that guinea pigs and rodents use, only bigger).  They also have foldable water dish type things that I use for my pets during travel.  I would set a carrier out and definitely bring a litter pan.  If you don't have much room, even a paper plate with a little bit of litter works.  Try and keep your cat on her regular diet to avoid stinky stools.

I highly discourage bringing milk for your cat- it is hard for them to digest and you will have diarrhea everywhere!

  16. my 4 month old kitten loves car rides. but i would definitely make a few stops and give it a chance to eat, drink, and go to the bathroom. i let my car roam free in the car because he hates being in a box or locked up.

  17. well i know for my cats traveling in the car is VERY stressfull for them and me!! so what i would do is get a little crate put like a pillow or blacket to make it comfy and give her a sleeping  pill which u can get at any pet store just to make her sleep so it's not soo ruff!! trust me it has help me alot!!

  18. VERY IMPORTANT!!

Get a larger cat carrier or a small dog carrier. Leave it in the house w/ the door open where he/she can discover it and make it his/her own. Put some blankets and toys and treats to help calm ur cats nerves. So when you are driving and in hotels and in a new house your cat has a place of their own that is their safe spot! That is very important to do. NO JOKE! Also make sure you get a health report from ur doc, in case u get pulled over or anything if u do not have ur cats papers there is a chance that he/she may be taken away. Rarely happens I would hate to have that happen to you. Usually u just need to go to the vet and let them know ur are moving or going on a trip and they will give you all of the info. you may need.

best of luck but for sure get a cat carrier or dog carrier. I moved from CA to NC w. 2 cats. They hated the 5 day trip but they were safe. :)

  19. I would but him in a carrier make it cozy! Buy a shoe box with litter soo he can go to the bathroom. Some food and water. Maybe even put something of your that has your smell on it to make him feel comfortable. Hope it helps!
