I will be moving to Barrow County, GA soon and want to know about the Ad Valorem Tax.?

About how much is it to register a 2004 Saturn Ion 2 with 44500 miles? I am trying to figure out how to calculate this, but am having a hard time. I want to be prepared when I register the car!

An ad valorum tax is common in many states.  It is a tax on the resale value of the car, and goes down as the car depreciates.  You would have to know the tax rate to answer more fully.  For a 2004, expect about $500 or so; but that's a guess.

I live in Cobb Co. GA and I just registered my car (2000 Chevy Malibu) and the ad Vvalorem was

$39.10 and the tags/registration total was $60.10. You might have to pay a little more. But they base it on the value of your car.
