what are some tips to help me curve my thirst and hunger?

  1. Always keep busy, when you're busy you forget that you're hungry. Read extra Quran if you have nothing to do to keep yourself busy, it'll keep your mind off things. Get your friends to join in with you even, my friends actually fast with me even though some are christian and some athiests lol, it actually helps becuase they're not eating around you.

    Don't keep telling yourself in your head that you're fasting and you can only eat at a certain time, take it as a normal day, you'll eat soon, keep busy and that time will become sooner. It'll go real quick.

    I am fasting aswell in Ramadan my parents say that I should stay home and go too sleep - if you go out your bound to get weary and tired and out of breath and will need a drink of water !

  3. Eat properly for seher... don't have too much bread, make a good meal with proteins (eggs are good). Drink at least two glasses of water.

    Last year I would end my breakfast with a cup of peppermint tea. It was amazing. The beautiful aroma stays with you all day long and somehow does help the thirst.

    As far as during the day, don't exert yourself too much. Realize that at the beginning of the day you may be quite energetic but it's the start of the race and if you want to finish properly you need balance.

    Also rest well at nights and don't over eat. The first week will take some adjusting but the beauty of Ramadhan is how quickly you realize the material life and the unnecessary clutters in life. How people abuse and don't appreciate the blessings in their life and how some constantly eat and eat even when they're not hungry.

  4. The first thing you should know is why you are fasting.

    As far as I know, fasting is mainly for two reasons. To make you realise what starving people feel, and for patience. To teach us how to be patient.

    If a person spends all his fast sleeping so he doesn't have to feel his hunger, there's really no point in fasting (I mean, not really, but yeah). the first few days are really hard. But then it gets easier. And soon, you wouldn't even mind.

    The main thing you've got to keep in mind is your purpose of fasting, and that Allah makes it a lot easier for us. Really, I'm not just saying that. My mum used to say it to me, but I really didn't believe it. But it actually worked.

  7. It would have been better if you would have some days on Fast. in the early month of Shaban. But not after the Mid of it, as Prophet has asked not to keep when Ramzan month is near.

    This method prophet advised to people who asked he same kind of ques.

    Its a practice, as in Ramzan you have to have continues fasting without a day break.

  9. You could keep yourself distracted with meaningful stuff like cleaning that messy garage, cleaning out that junk drawer, create a specific place to put your glue, scissors, measuring tape and s***w driver (these thing are never there when I need them ) -:< ), etc...

    Also remember to get a proper diet and nutrients when you break fast... Hunger is just a feeling but malnutrition is a problem...
