My junior year will start in one month and i will be taking AP English III, AP U.S. History, AP Chem and AP Spanish language. I want to be prepared for my classes so i want some study material but their is just so much out their and i don't know the right ones. I wasnt looking for study material for the AP test because that is at the end of the year, but for the class itself. Flashcard, specific books, anything good would help. The classes i think i will need to self-study the most in are English and Chemistry because the teachers aren't that good. Thank you all for your responses!!!

  1. Yeah, I also used the 5 steps to a 5 books. They worked good for me as well.

If you need any help with U.S.History, I would suggest Kaplan's  flashcards. They have a lot of information on over 500 people/events/etc, and are very helpful!

  2. "5 Steps To A 5" book series. You're teacher is going to be using similar ciriculum. I guess any other AP study guide series would work but that's the one i used

  3. Cool, I'm taking AP History, AP English, and AP Biology. What I've done is I've boughten a few books like "Cliffs AP Biology" that summarize the material so it's easier to study for tests. You might want to do the same with AP Chem. Also, I've orderd the biology book my teacher will be using on Amazon.  (A used one was about $40) This way I can highlight the textbook and write notes in it as I read & can therefore study off of more efficiently later.

As for US History, I suggest reading "A People's History of the United States" by Howard Zinn.  It will familiarize you with the material before it is taught.

    Hope this helps!

  5. Pray to God everynight! Ok, If you really dont like reg. hs chem and you think its to hard for you, you should drop AP Chem. If your one of those really serious students that hate struggling in school, than DROP IT! Colleges dont want you to take that many classes and since its you junior year you want to keep your grades up. Keepin your avg up is more important than anything else. In addition, by dropping a class, you will have more time to study for the SATS which is almost as important as avg. APs will only help, but the SATs and your avg are required.

  6. for apush

honestly i say dont count this class out. i got a 91 A in it but a 2 on the ap exam and i studied for 2 months.

i know ap chemistry is going to be the devil for you.good luck with that.

but my advice is to stick to websites until its around that time for the test, its your choice on what sudy books to get. different people learn in different ways but i say the princeton reveiw is the best because....welll idk they are bffs with the collegeboard LOL.

i wish you the best of luck
