  1. Not much nightlife in Guatemala City, matter of fact not much nightlife period.

    However

    In Guatemala City

Brass Beer Co-ZONA 10. A casual watering hole in the modern Zona 10 area of the city, this bar serves a range of microbrew beers to the crowds of regulars and tourists who fill up barstools. The list of offerings includes a good variety of brews from around the world as well as local favorites. Owners aren't just boasting when they say you get the "largest beer you ever had."

El Gazabo-ZONA 1. Dance club located in the Old City is a perfect place to dance to the latest international tunes after a day of sightseeing. The crowds grow as the night wears on and DJs spin chart-topping tunes that keep the crowds hopping long into the early morning.

Europa-ZONA 1. For more than ten years, this nightspot opened by an American has been at the center of Old City socializing. The club offers a fine selection of traditional American fare and perfectly mixed cocktails and beer selections at reasonable prices. Regulars easily mingle with travelers and the friendly staff creates a casual and memorable evening out in this international city. Europa is a laid-back retreat for American travelers looking to relax and kick back and mingle with their fellow travelers.

Kahlua-ZONA 10. Late-night watering hole and dance club lures a mixed crowd of all ages to listen to the latest body-shaking tunes, enjoy perfectly mixed drinks and meet travelers and modish locals. The nightspot features a modern interior with flashing lights and booming bass sounds. While this may not be the ideal spot for a business drink, society hounds and party-hunters will fit right in.

La Iguana Azul-ZONA 10. This Zona Viva hotspot has moved to the front of the pack in terms of popular nightspots in Guatemala City. A youngish crowd flocks here during the week and especially on weekends to enjoy international disco sounds and frothy cocktails served by a hip, youthful staff. Mod ambience and good drink prices make this a solid choice for nights out in the city.

The Raddison is located right within zona viva which is a very safe area for wandering around at night till the night clubs close. Lots of police patrolling the area. During the day you can go to the central market downtown which is perfectly safe. I was there last week. There again lots of police on foot, on bikes , on patrol cars. So, the area is clean and perfectly safe during the day. Try to go to the relief map to get an idea of the topography of the country and its 34 volcanoes. Try to go to antigua and take a tour to hike the pacaya volcano. Traffic is crazy during the day. Stay away from riding the public buses. Armed robberies happen on board. Cab fares are pretty reasonable. Good luck.
